RIS-ALiCE: Al-rich industrial residues for mineral binders in ESEE region

1 North Macedonian National Workshop

On Thursday, December 5, 2019, the first National Workshop in North Macedonia took place at the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy, Ss Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje (FTM – UKIM). The event was organized by the three RIS ALiCE partners: FTM-UKIM, USJE and ESM. The National workshop was organized for participants from industry, academia, research organizations, ministries, chamber of commerce, business sector, pupils from secondary school ”Gorgi Dimirtov” and students from our University. During the workshop the participants were informed about the aims of the RIS-AliCE project, fly ash, management of NORM (Naturally occurring radioactive materials), possible solutions for fly ash valorisation in cement, concrete, ceramics and glass-ceramics. Also, pupils present their impressions trough the presentations from the side visits of REK Bitola and USJE cement plant.  Active discussion among the participants was opened after the end of the lecture part. Sustainable solutions for fly ash valorisation were proposed as future points for collaboration among participants.
